“I offer therapy in both English and Spanish.”

Hi, I’m Viridiana (Viry)
My pronouns are she/her/ella. I’m a Latina therapist based in Phoenix, Arizona, offering online therapy to adults across the state of Arizona and Utah.
I work with Latina, Latine, Latino, and first-generation adults who are navigating anxiety, family expectations, and the pressure of being “the strong one.”
Many of my clients come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, stretched thin, and unsure how to take care of themselves without feeling guilt or disconnection from their family.
If that sounds familiar, you’re in the right place.
Why I Do This Work
I am a first generation Mexican-American, daughter of immigrants who worked to instill their beautiful family traditions all while navigating a society often not accepting of people who look like me.
As an immigrant or the child of immigrants, values such as family, loyalty, and sacrifice shape your life from an early stage. Though these values provide great skills, they also come with many challenges. You may have been taught to:
- Put family first, no matter what
- Stay strong and not show vulnerability
- Avoid conflict or “talking back” as a sign of respect
- Carry responsibilities that others depend on
Over time, this can lead to anxiety, trauma, burnout, people-pleasing, and feeling disconnected from your own needs and identity (ni de aquí, ni de allá).
Therapy offers a space where you don’t have to choose between honoring your cultura and taking care of yourself. We can learn to do both.
My Approach in Therapy
My approach is warm, collaborative, and culturally affirming.
Even within the Latino culture, each story is unique. I tailor sessions to your individual experiences, family background, and goals. In our sessions, we may focus on:
- Understanding patterns shaped by family and culture
- Learning how to set realistic boundaries without overwhelming guilt
- Processing generational trauma and stress responses
- Reducing anxiety and emotional overwhelm
- Reconnecting with your sense of self
I integrate evidence-based approaches with a deep respect for your cultural identity and lived experience.

Who Do I Work With?
What Makes This Space Different?
I specialize in working with:
- Latina, Latine, Latino and first-generation adults
- Adults experiencing anxiety and chronic stress
- Individuals navigating family pressure and expectations
- People working through generational trauma
- High-functioning individuals who feel overwhelmed internally
Services are provided via online therapy across Arizona and Utah, so you can access support from wherever you are.
This space is where you can show up as you are.
- You won’t have to explain or justify your cultural experiences
- You can talk openly about family dynamics without judgment
- Your identity is your strength
- We move at your pace, with compassion and honesty
- We honor your needs, your sacrifices, while honoring family
No pressure to be perfect or “hold it all together.”
On a More Personal Note

Outside of therapy, I enjoy watching live sporting events, going to new coffee shops, and planning my next travel itinerary.
My love language is quality time; I value time with family and friends and make it my mission to make those I love feel like they truly matter (maybe that’s the Latina eldest daughter quality in me).
I understand firsthand how hard it can be to think of your own emotional needs and make space for yourself without feeling selfish (especially when you’ve spent so much of your life showing up for others).
This is why I approach this work from a compassionate, gentle, and supportive place; helping you reconnect with yourself.
