Meet Viry

Viridiana Zendejas

MSW, LCSW

¿Hola, que tal? My name is Viridiana (or Viry), my pronouns are she/her/ella.

I’m a Latina trauma therapist providing virtual therapy in Phoenix, Arizona and Salt Lake City, Utah.

I am a first generation Mexican-American, daughter of Mexican immigrants who worked to instill their beautiful family traditions all while encouraging me to create my own path in a society often not accepting of people who look like me.

As an immigrant or the child of immigrants, childhood may have come with a mix of responsibilities.

Though these experiences provide great skills, they also come with many challenges. Some may look like continuing to feel responsible for your family’s wellbeing, struggles with balancing the family’s expectations of you versus your actual needs, feeling like you don’t always belong in spaces you worked so hard to be a part of (ni de aquí, ni de allá), having mixed emotions such as gratitude for family sacrifices but also feeling upset with what you and/or your family went through.

Because of the unique needs in the Latino culture, I believe it’s important to work with a Latina therapist who honors your individual needs and also considers the role family might have in your life. I work to provide a space where you can better understand your own needs, heal from past wounds, practice realistic boundaries in your relationships, and create a sense of belonging.

You don’t have to carry it all on your own anymore. If you’ve been feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or ready for change, therapy can be the place to explore, heal unhealthy family cycles, and grow. If you’re curious about working together, reach out for a free consultation. Your story matters! I’m happy to answer your questions and work together in creating the life you deserve.
